Vegas with Our Two Daughters

Enjoying a little refreshment oh the way up to the family reunion (these are dedicated to all the food lovers in the family – YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!)

Welcome Back Paul!

Because Paul never hopped on board the blogging thing, I decided to do something with our dead blogspot. So from now on (not too often mind you) I will post pictures and things from our 50+ year old lives so all y’all (I just couldn’t resist irritating some of you with that) could see a few of the things that occupy our time.

These first pictures were taken July 2008. It was Paul's first trip home from Iraq. Here is greeting some of the kids. I guess I spaced off Wes, Nikki and Fressia’s reunion.

He also brought gifts for the grandkids – books, lights and wrestling! Grampa is always up for a good wrestling match no matter how old he is getting, though the once-twenty minute wrestling matches have turned into ten!

We sure miss him and love when he comes home.

Finally Arrived

This is mom (Lorna) writing this blog. Dad has finally arrived at Camp Loyalty from Bahgdad. He seems very upbeat about his base and the people he works with. The food is still great. Somebody takes his laundry, does it and gets it back to him in one evening - he didn't even get service that quick at home!
He is one of eight firefighters on this base (2 officers and 6 others). He sleeps on the fourth floor of one of Saddam Insane's former palaces. He feels quite safe.
One of the highlights of his trip thus far was his "black hawk" ride from Bahgdad to his base. He thought that was pretty cool. He says the things he does there as a firefighter are fairly similar to firefighting routines here in the states.
Dad says he will try to get to this blog and do some things himself but he also seems to be keeping busy since he arrived at camp, so, until he does I will do my best to keep you up to date.
